Job Summary/General Purpose of Job

  • Reviews, processes, and records grant activities for multiple and/or complex domestic and international grants.

Principal Duties/Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Monitors and records AR activity including non-grant payments.
  • Reviews and corrects federal and non-federal donor financial reports per donors' schedule.
  • Manages and reviews monthly grant activity to ensure accurate and complete reporting.
  • Reconciles grant-related General Ledger accounts: AR and deferred revenue.
  • Assists with preparation for the single audit (annual financial audit).
  • Collaborates with other Finance team members and other departments to respond timely to grant-related inquiries.
  • Performs other ad-hoc requests and related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications & Interests (BQIs)

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • At least five years' experience reviewing financial transactions against grant provisions to determine the allowability of such transactions.
  • At least five years' experience interpreting and applying grant rules and regulations from government entities (e.g., OMB circulars) and/or private donors.
  • At least one year of experience working with an ERP financial reporting tool in a grantor or grantee environment.
  • Intermediate-level skill in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • Fluency in the language of a host country for which support is provided.
  • Previous experience interacting with program support staff, donors, and/or grantors.

Physical Requirements (If Applicable}

  • Typical office environment.

Extent of Travel Required in the Job

  • As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 5% of the time.
