Washington College is seeking qualified applicants for the Director of Stewardship in the College Advancement Office. The Director of Stewardship plans, coordinates, and directs all stewardship efforts for the Office of Advancement, Alumni and Constituent Engagement. They will uphold best practices around stewardship with the highest standard of accountability, care and attention to our donors and constituents, and a positive impact on the well-being of the College and our broader community.
The Director of Stewardship will be an integral member of the Advancement team and enjoy a collaborative, lighthearted camaraderie among individuals invested in advancing the College through relationships and resources.
The successful candidate will bring a high level of care and accountability to all areas of their work. They will have the ability to connect with internal and external constituents and set a standard for donor and constituent attentiveness. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is essential to this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive donor relations program to include: supervision of a timely and accurate gift acknowledgment program; documentation of new current restricted funds, endowed funds, and planned gifts through fully executed fund forms and/or gift agreements; regular donor stewardship reports for endowed funds and select current restricted funds and/or gifts; appropriate donor recognition and celebration; and maintenance of associated records and databases to support this work.
Program success is achieved by working collaboratively with Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Institutional Giving, Athletics, Alumni Engagement, Financial Aid, Business Office, Faculty, and others to create and sustain a positive and rewarding relationship between Washington College and its donors.
