The emergency departments at ChristianaCare treat a combined total of more than 225,000 patients each year, making our doctors, nurses and support staff among the most experienced emergency medical professionals in the region. ChristianaCare's Emergency Department is ranked 24th in the United States and 15th on the East Coast in number of patient visits, according to data from the American Hospital Association. Our Union Hospital Emergency Department is a 27 bed ED, located in Cecil County, Elkton, Maryland.

The Union Hospital Emergency Department is seeking nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment with a thirst for knowledge to work in a community based Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be comfortable caring for all ages and populations and will be flexible with a team oriented approach to patient care. Our Registered Nurses work closely with providers to provide excellent quality of care and patient safety.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Whenever possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of the Registered Nurse.
When care is not provided directly by the Registered Nurse, the RN assigns/directs care to other qualified members of the health care team.
The RN coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed.
This job requires employee to demonstrate initial and annual competencies in order to remain in the position.
Administers, monitors, and documents medications and treatments within the scope of practice.
Monitors and reports expected and adverse reactions to treatments, procedures and medications.

Hours: The schedule for this position is 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
