Job Description:

The Facilities Technician Intern will work in an industrial environment in a semiconductor manufacturing facility along side experienced facilities technicians. He/She will gain hands on experience installing, servicing and repairing HVAC, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment that includes but is not limited to natural gas fired hot water and steam producing boilers, centrifugal and condenser chillers, evaporative cooling towers, closed loop chilled water systems, ultra pure water production, air separation nitrogen production, life safety systems and facility control and management systems.

  • The intern will assist ongoing and new projects to improve efficiency and solve problems in the Facility Operations and Maintenance department by measuring air or fluid pressures and flows, electrical voltage, current and power consumption, heat and cooling loads in buildings or closed loop systems.
  • He/She will contribute to routine and corrective maintenance on building environmental systems and controls.

Hours will be dependent on school schedule.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school equivalency and actively enrolled in a college or trade schools in the HVAC, electrical, plumbing or construction trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, architectural plans and written specifications.
  • Work individually and in team environment.
  • Demonstrate good problem solving skills.
  • Work safely with basic hand tools.
  • Basic computer skills using MS word, Excel and Outlook.
  • AutoCAD experience a plus.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $17-28/hr.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
