Position Summary

The Software Systems Test Engineer serves as OTECH's key resource for validating our unique robotic and autonomous software systems. This role will help produce the required deliverables to field compliant Department of Defense (DoD) underwater systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Ownership of software testing events and CDRL's
- Software Test Procedures
- Test Readiness Reviews
- Test Completion Reports
- Test Reports
* Help manage and maintain hardware bench test setups, including software configurations.
- Follow work instructions to program boards and sensors, including validating and tracking the results.
* Communicate independently and effectively for issue resolution.
* Track and present software testing status to customers.
* Function as SME for software testing related efforts.
* Schedules can be demanding throughout the year and occasional work outside normal working hours should be anticipated.
* Light travel should be anticipated.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

* BS Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Commensurate experience will be considered.
* 5+ years of practical experience in software, systems, test, or quality engineering.
* Ability to read the following: C, C++ or C#.
* Experience managing software test events, including associated documentation.
* Attention to detail and interest in understanding functionality of complex underwater systems.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of Defense Security Clearance.
* Must be a US citizen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Comfortable with hardware bench testing including:
- Programming low level I/O stacks
- Powering and monitoring sensors
- Low voltage I/O stimulation and monitoring
* Experience with GitHub and Jira.
* Experience with headless Linux.
* Familiarity with ROS, Qt, React, or Avalonia.
* Solid written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering concepts and products to team members and customers.
* Experience producing test documents for DoD programs or the field of ocean engineering.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
