Job Summary

This postion is ONLY for currently enrolled Clayton State students.

The Stewardship and Events Intern supports the Office of the Vice President for Advancement and External Relations through event research, planning, and execution. This role will work directly with the Special Assistant to the Vice President to support the stewardship efforts for the University. The incumbent will gain experience in programming, stewardship, administration, and event planning and implementation. This is a highly visible role through the office of the Vice President of Advancement and requires a high level of professionalism and accountability.

Position Overview:

1. Stewardship
a. Research, plan, and implement various stewardship events and pieces (both virtual and in-person) for internal and external constituents
b. Create and maintain a regularly evolving stewardship manual for the University
c. Serve as the liaison to the Archives department and ensure all necessary materials are sent for preservation
d. Manage the development of impactful communication efforts to enhance University and program visibility among internal and external constituencies

2. Events Assistant
a. Plan and execute high-level, donor-centric events/opportunities for the University's alumni/donors, the Presidents Society, the Foundation, and other constituents
b. Create meaningful and impactful stewardship experiences
c. Maintain well detailed and documented records of events for archival purposes
d. Ensure consistent expectations and appearances throughout all events
e. Coordinate and staff tables at appropriate University events to promote the impact of philanthropy on campus to current students

3. Personal Responsibilities
a. Conduct yourself in a highly professional manner, role model appropriate behavior, and comply with the Clayton State Student Code of Conduct at all times
b. This will be an in-person/virtual hybrid to accommodate the goals of the department
c. Maintain the balance among academic responsibilities, position expectations, and personal priorities
d. Accept and promote the mission and goals of the office and the University
e. Practice personal and professional growth by defining goals, taking action to meet them, and evaluating progress, in consultation with your supervisor

1. Must be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
2. Availability to work a maximum of 12 hours per week
3. Possess exceptional leadership and decision making skills
4.Effective time management skills
5. Ability to work in a diverse and multi-faceted team environment that includes students, faculty, alumni, and community members
6. Some evenings/weekend work required
7. Commitment of at least one full academic year, two preferred
