As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions we are expanding our staff and seeking a Permit Specialist to join the FSG Signs - Austin team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Permit Specialist you will be responsible for the permit application process for Signage Projects. You will review applications to ensure the plans meet all code regulations before approving the permit. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, assure the process is clear and correct and be able to communicate the status of permit applications to management.

A Permit Specialist will:

  • Assist office personnel (Project Managers, Permit Coordinators, Sales Staff) with Permit processing
  • Review and coordinate incoming and outgoing Permit requests
  • Travel to Municipal and County offices to submit paperwork and retrieve Permits as needed
  • Obtain necessary approvals and permits for Sign Installation
  • Reviews sign requirements requested by client
  • Collaborates with peers, clients and appropriate agencies
  • Handles all documentation related to permits – faxing, scanning, copying, filing, etc.
  • Processing job packets once permits approved and turning over to production



Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree; or one to two years related experience and./or training
  • Two years of experience in the Sign Industry
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screen
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Positive customer service skills
  • Experience in lighting and electrical a plus!
