A week in the life of an AEGIS Weapon Systems Course Facilitator:

  • Develop, organize and conduct training and educational programs for Fleet sailors.
  • Conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical lab training. 
  • Train CG/DDG sailors in preventive and corrective maintenance for the UYQ-70 Local Area Network (LAN).
  • Train others in the alignment, adjustment, configuration, removal, replacement of the lowest replaceable unit.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for ATRC courses.
  • Provide dynamic teaching & training  of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat Systems to the officer level.
  • Review and analyze U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine.
  • Conduct dynamic assessment of the sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures.
  • Provide formal appraisal of performance.
  • Observe and assess contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches.
  • Support Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates
  • Conduct training gap analysis for Course improvement.
  • Document training conducted.
  • Generate formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
  • Develop, test, maintain and deliver moderately complex Aegis training programs.
  • Establish course content and objectives.
  • Maintain records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners.  The salary range for this position is $60-70k. Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of time.
  • Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
  • Must be willing to support shift work as assigned by government  customer.

At least Seven (7) years of Experience in:

  • Required AEGIS Weapon Systems as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. 

At least One (1) year of Experience in:

  • An Instructor role in a Navy Training Environment
