I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

Job Description Summary:
The Biostatistics Center of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies funded by federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health. This Biostatistics Center's Biostatistician III position collaborates with biomedical researchers in designing, implementing, and publishing results from biomedical research projects and assumes primary responsibility for writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for research proposals. This role collaborates with biomedical investigators and assists in developing objectives and designing sampling, randomization and data collection procedures to achieve study objectives. This position develops the statistical design and planned analyses for research grant proposals and takes primary responsibility for writing the statistical design, including sample size, and statistical considerations in grant proposals for faculty throughout the school. This position develops and implements new innovative procedures in the areas of data collection, quality control, presentation of results, and statistical analyses. This role typically mentors and trains entry level biostatistician staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold an MS orMPHdegree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience, or, a Doctoral degree in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience must be progressive Master's level or equivalent experience in Statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Prior SAS experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
