The Space and Defense Group Quality Team is looking for an Electronics Packaging Drafter to join the team. The Electronic Packaging Drafter prepares drawings which embody the design of electronic products fulfilling the specifications of the customer and the Engineers involved.

Responsibilities include:

- circuit board mounting, interconnect methods, mechanical packaging and hardware selection, and related drawings and parts lists.

- drawing release and liaison follow-up of electronic jobs in production. The incumbent produces drawings with or without the assistance of detail drafters. The drawings should define the optimum product from a point of view of ease of manufacture and economy of cost, yet having the appearance, qualifications and components which will do the job required.

- An understanding of electronic circuits and components is a plus and must understand good electronic assembly and test practices. The incumbent should be capable of doing the making of printed circuit board drawings.

Duties will be approximately 50% routine and 50% creative, requiring the use of judgment to choose alternatives and apply ideas gained from previous situations.

We're looking for...

• The Electronic Packaging Drafter has the prime accountability for translation of requirements into drawings of economical and functional quality products.
• Occasionally oversee the work of Detailers in pursuit of objectives.
• Organize his/her work to maintain schedules and cost estimates.
• Collaborates with Engineers, Packaging Designers, Drafters, and Expediters to arrive at established goals.
• Apply good judgment in solution of electronic packaging problems.

• Occasionally does liaison work on released projects to assist production.

Here are the required skills

• At least an Associate's degree in an Engineering or Technical field with at least 5 years' experience in electronic drafting or bachelor's degree in engineering with at least two years' experience in design/drafting of electronic packaging

Preferred Qualifications to be considered...

• Ability to organize his/her work and to keep track of several jobs or many facets of one job.
• Accuracy and neatness in his/her work must be well developed.
• A defense/space background and familiarity with the design life cycle including design, qualification
• Experience in NX a plus
