We are currently recruiting for a Roadway Design Engineer to be in our Baltimore, MD office.

Responsibilities:

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your civil/roadway design expertise to lead transportation related projects.

The Roadway Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Performing engineering design tasks for roadway and site civil projects from conceptual design to final design. This includes having a good working knowledge of the entire project life cycle.
• Developing specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
• Coordinating project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline
• Leading and coordinating design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
• Identifying schedule and cost variances and develop recommendations for corrective action
• Participating in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
• Attending design review meetings, and interact with clients as his or her level of experience progresses

Qualifications:

The qualifications for the Roadway Design Engineer role include:

• Bachelor's degree of Science in Civil Engineering
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• At least 5 years minimum design experience
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (MicroStation/Inroads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D)
• Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering with additional experience in site civil design a plus.
• Experience with VDOT, DDOT or MDSHA
• Travel may be required
