Cover Letters are an area where many job seekers struggle. Once you’ve got the hang of it, however, they’re fairly straightforward. We’ll show you the proper format and a couple of quick tips that will make your letter stand out from the masses. Cover letters have a specific purpose:

• An opportunity to “sell” yourself
• A place to differentiate yourself from your competition
• A chance to explain oddities in your résumé
• A great complement to your resume, especially when it is not required
• Specific to each job

• A place to tell your life story
