The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Washington College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of German to begin on August 19, 2024. This position is for the fall semester and ends in December 2024.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a record of effectiveness in and commitment to undergraduate teaching and possess native or near-native proficiency in German and English. An MA in German or a related field is required, but preference will be for those who are ABD or have PhDs. Teaching responsibilities consist of a course each at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced German language level. In addition, the faculty member is expected to support program-related co-curricular activities. For candidates qualified to teach French courses at all language levels, there is the possibility of continued employment for the spring semester 2025.
